Making healthy food available to everyone, throughout the year, was an idea we turned into our business mission. From the very beginning, we were oriented to satisfy the needs and desires of our customers. Our goal was to offer the highest quality and most complete range of fish, fish products and seafood, primarily for domestic and neighboring markets, in order to gain a competitive advantage.
Expertise, experience, tradition, development
We relied on our own strengths, that is on the acquired experience, profiled expertise and tradition of fish trade. That is how Fratello Trade started operating in 2000. We have became a mixed company on June 20, 2002 when 30% of the shares were bought by Horizonte Enterprise Development Company B.V. , the Netherlands, established in Vienna. We have became the first private company in Bosnia and Herzegovina to be through the procedure of initial public offering in Banja Luka Stock Exchange, where we collected additional capital for development.
Today, the shareholder structure consists of 75 shareholders, the largest of which are Mario Derajić with 56.81% and Horizonte Enterprise Development company B. V. Netherlands with 29.24% share.
Trade, packaging, processing, distribution
Fratello Trade, joint-stock company, Banja Luka is nowadays engaged in processing, packaging, storage, sale and distribution of fresh and frozen fish, seafood, fish products, vegetables, fruits and dough, and in sales of products that require + regime: frying oil and canned products. With the business unit in Sarajevo and the subsidiary in Belgrade, we achieved greater efficiency in our work and established closer contact with our customers in the retail and HoReCa sectors. Thanks to such approach, our customers have become megamarkets, retail stores, fish markets, hotels and restaurants, wholesalers and canteens (workers’ restaurants).

Eating healthy, is our genuine message that we send with full responsibility for the quality of products from our offer. We purchase goods of proven quality from all continents, and we place them primarily on the markets of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. Seafood on your table is a recognizable slogan that is associated with our brand in BiH and the region. The slogan represents our commitment to the mission of raising the annual consumption of fish and seafood, as foods rich in vitamins, minerals, high-quality proteins and precious unsaturated fatty acids, to the Central European average.
Good manufacturing and hygiene practices
The management of Fratello Trade is firmly committed to the full implementation of the established systems of good manufacturing practice (GMP) and good hygiene practice, as a precondition for an efficient HACCP system. The HACCP system is the basis of quality work, so it is the obligation of all employees to constantly get new knowledge and continuous training.

- The company has a total office space of 2300 m2, located on a ground of 6000 m2 where it is located: 5700 m3 cold storage, that is 4 chambers for storing frozen food in the required cooling system; Customs warehouse for goods that require +/- cooling system; Loading and unloading ramps for easy and fast loading / unloading of goods with forklifts.
